Why Bats?

Bats are essential for a healthy planet.

Due to misinformation and unnecessary fear, bats are under serious threat and need YOUR help.

What we do

Rescue, Rehabilitate, Release

We are volunteer wildlife rehabilitators, permitted by and working with the South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. We work closely with vets and other animal specialists to get our precious wildlife healthy and back out into the wild, where they belong. Our facilities are geared towards our speciality - bats.

Educate

Think Bat's main goal is to conserve through education. Misinformation, leading to fear, is the number one threat to bats. Incorrect facts and false news has created a lot of stigma around bats. The most important help we can give to these animals is to educate the public.

Human-Bat Conflict Resolution

We want the best outcome for the people and the bats. We do this through education and also provide a consulting service as well as a bat house installation service.

ABOUT US

Think Bat is a registered non-profit organization
NPO 307 - 701

We are volunteers with a soft spot and interest in all misunderstood wildlife. This led us to perhaps the most misunderstood of all – bats.

Think Bat works with, and is permitted through, the South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

After meeting our first bat in 2020, we fell in love with the species and, with CEO of SAWRC Judy’s support, have since created our own bat clinic north of Pretoria.
